It's no secret that Jakob, our Creative Mess Director, LOVES architecture. He knows everything and all about the windows, nooks, pilasters and wooden shingles in Zagreb. He could sit for hours and observe buildings and towers. His current favourites are the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben (pictured above).

When we go out, we always carry a little notebook and markers with us, because you never know when a new idea will pop up. He draws quite elaborate (imaginary) buildings and we hope he'll become an architect or a designer (like his mom).

To further encourage his interest in architecture, we often go for a walk around the town and talk about structures around us. Instead of good night stories, we often tell stories about famous architects and engineers.

Naturally, we also started to investigate and buy things related to architecture. As always, our buying rule was simple - less is more (guess who said that - an architect!). So, without further ado, we curated this Aspiring Architect Starter Pack for you.

1. STYLE - Every decent architect knows about the Architect's Dress code - black rimmed (preferably rounded) glasses and a black turtleneck. Assortment of drawing tools is also a must.

2. TOYS - Best way to learn about the construction is through blocks. There are many blocks to choose from (there will be another post on that subject), but these are beyond awesome. Even when kids make a mess, which is inevitable, this kind of mess looks great. So it's a win-win situation, right?
